During the application stage, you were asked to provide a bunch of details about you, you will need those details to cancel your application.

Yes, you can cancel your passport application and apply again if needed. Cancelling your application does not stop you from applying again in the future, you can cancel your current application if you notice that you made a mistake that will affect you in the future.
While it is not possible to cancel a submitted passport application in some countries, it is possible in other countries.
